Hi


Can someone please confirm whether ICMP is enabled by default in Firewall-1 NG AI ?

icmp is NOT enabled by default by NG AI or NG Feature Pack 3 for that matter.  You either have to define it explicitly or via "global properties".

According to the book written by Chris Tobkin CCSI CCSE+ (Checkpoint NG/AI published by Syngress) on page 183 it states:


 


"In checkpoint NG AI, Stateful inspection ICMP has been added to allow replies and errors to be returned to be returned to requesting application"


Does this not indicate ICMP is enabled by default ?
