High Availability

Hi, where can I find documentation to setup high availability for Checkpoint NG AI R54. Do I need additional licence?

Also I am planning a site-to-site VPN with head office mainly for SMTP and Active Dir traffic on a Compaq PIII 866Mzh server, 512mb RAM (win nt 4.0) - is this machine able to handle this or do I need a higher spec machine. Please advise.

I would appreciate your help

Thanks in Advance.

Depends of what type of high availability you want to set up.  Some require additional licenses and other's do not.

There is a document on phoneboy that is not bad.

If you are using Nokia appliances there is a good document available from there support site as well.

Your server should be fine for that type of traffic assuming it is a small remote or home office.

if you are not running checkpoint on nokia platform, use vrrp for High Availability.  If  you are not running checkpoint on Nokia plaftorm, I woud look at ClusterXL.  I've been using it on NG AI R55 and it seems to be stable.
