I have a Solaris8 with Firewall-1 NG and Websense 4.4.1 on box. I have my manager running on a windows box. I have been experiancing issue's with Websense manager. It seems to fail to connect to Openserver running on the Soalris machine.The Websense Manager will give me an error when I try to open and connect to it. "Cannot connect to the specified Websense Server. It may not be available."
This happens intermittingly and it does not log any where. Has anybody seen this behaviour. I have tested the conenction between the machines and can telnet from the manager machine to the Solaris8 Websense Openserver. The Firewall does not have any entry in SmartTracker for droped packets to the Manager machine. I still get filtering to work with out any interuptions.
If any body has seen this please drop me a line. I have called Websense tech support. They have been very helpful on troubleshooting but they cant duplicat the issue so there is nothing they can do. I have called Checkpoint but they have not been able to find the answer either.
