I was wondering if SecureXL (Performance Pack) could be run on an Ultra 10 with Solaris 8 64 bit. It meets the minimum requirements but doesn't show up on the recommended platforms. Any (constructive) advice?
I am not sure this is constructive advice but the nokias ( ipso ) and secureplatform ( linux ) have better performance because of ( i think ) something called flows so ( i think ) the operating system takes over some things that on other platforms checkpoint does and consequently improves performance.
For example when you install floodgate on a nokia box it changes from fastflows ( or whatever its proper name is ) to slowpath or slowflows ( whatever its proper name is ) because floodgate has to see all the traffic to prioritise it which means the operating system cant do the bits its good at.
If anyone wants to explain better what i am trying to explain please do!
In conclusion i think im trying to say if the operating system does not hook into checkpoint for these flows it might not work.
