External IF file in Firewall-1 NG

Hi I am really confused. I came across a question which asked where the external if file is located in VPN/Firewall-1 NG and the answer was that it was not used in VPN/Firewall-1 NG ....is this correct because I thought it does exist and is in the FWDIR/Conf directory.


 


Pls can somebody help and clarify.
