I am struggling with a Nokia IP330. The hard disk is damaged, and I would like to put another hard disk in to replace the current one. I tried to ghost the old hd to the new hd, but with no luck (I saw some other posts that had the same results, so I wasn't expecting much).
How can I go about getting the boot manager on the hard disk? If anyone could give me the steps involved (detailed) in recovering from this situation I would be most grateful.

We tried the following: We inserted an IP330 harddisk and a new harddisk with a capacity below 32 GB into a PC and booted using a Redhat Linux administration CD that runs a Linux in RAM.
We used the dd command to copy the complete disk to the new one. And that worked. The IP machine booted, recognised the new disk size, changed something and rebooted again. After that, the system was stable.
To be clear: We did this on a test machine. Nobody will guarantee for such a setup on a production machine.
