Secureplatform as a standalone log server?

All,

Is it just me or anyone who has similar experiences that they want to share with the group?

I installed Secureplatform NG AI R55 on a Dell dual PII processor with 512MB of RAM.  After the installation, I used "sysconfig" to go in and setup the system configuration such as IP address, netmask, hostname, etc... After that, I was prompted to select what product I want to install on this box.  I selected "smartcenter" and then "log server".  During that process, I was asked to for the admin users, gui-clients and SIC (aka Activation Key) which is fine.  After everything is finally done, I did both the "ifconfig --save" and "route --save" and reboot the box.  After the box came back online, I applied HFA_04 to this box.  I rebooted the box after applying the HFA.  When the box came back online, whenever I tried to do a "cpconfig", I don't have a screen that allow me to add new administrator, gui-clients, SIC, etc... instead, it took me to the initial setup screen as if my original configuration never happened.  The funny is that I can SIC the SmartCenter with this log server just fine.  However, re-SIC can be a problem.  Same thing with trying to add new administrators and new gui clients to this log server using "cpconfig".  I have to use the workaround like edit the "gui-clients" file to add new clients and "fwm -a" to add new users.  Checkpoint, what a ****ty product.

Has anyone run into this problem before using Secureplatform as a standalone log server that has a similar experience as I have?
