Limit https connections to web server

Hi,

I have a problem with excessive https sessions to our webserver from different source IP's. Because the source keeps changing is it possible to apply a global setting limiting https connection within a certain time period? I have been able to alert on this by using smartdefense but not protect.

Thanks

Marc

The problem is that Checkpoint is NOT Cisco PIX.  Pix Firewall has a feature to do this like:

static (inside,outside) outside-ip inside-ip max half-open

where max=maximum connection to this IP

half-open=max embryonic (half-open) to this server

I asked Checkpoint TAC on this 2 years ago and didn't get

any solution from them, bastard.

I feel your pain my friend.

Thanks for confirming my fears. It looks like I will have to do this on a different platform.

You have hit the nail on the head with the words pain and checkpoint!
